Welcome to the website for Mythos, an independent superhero comic, created by Stephen Aryan and Eddie Butler of Swan Comics. Mythos is a comic for mature readers, and is not suitable for people easily offended.

 

On this site you will find the latest News, information about the comic, background on the creators, and ways you can get in touch with us.

20 July 2009 - Mythos is currently on an extended break but we hope to return next year with new issues and a second trade.

19 October 2008 - Mythos Issue 1 is now available to view in full online! You can read it like a proper comic as well, turn the pages at your leisure and if you like it and want to read more, then pick up the first trade which collects issues 1 through 5. 7 October 2008 -
If you attended the Birmingham comic show last weekend, we hope you had a good convention and stopped by the Mythos table to pick up an issue or two. If you enjoyed Issue 1, issues 2-5 are available to buy via this website, or there is a trade paperback which collects them. Click on the Buy Mythos button for more information. Issue 6 is almost complete and it begins our second story arc of the series. Keep checking out this website for more information. Below is a preview of the cover for Issue 6.
 

 

26 July 2008 - Our next appearance will be at the Birmingham International Comics Show (BICS) which is now in its second year and it will be at the ThinkTank again. It's a way off yet, October 4-5th, which gives you plenty of time to get it booked into your calendar and make travel arrangements. May 17 2008 -
The Bristol Comic Expo was a great event, I met up with a lot of old friends and made some new ones. There was a healthy interest in the trade and a few people asked when the next issue will be available. Issue 6 is well underway, and it should be coming out in the next couple of months.

October 23rd 2007 - Mythos trade paperback. If you were unable to attend the Birmingham convention and would like to purchase a copy of the Mythos trade paperback, you can buy it from our website here.

 

Alternatively we will be exhibiting at the Leeds Sequential Art Festival, being held in Leeds, on November 10th 2007. More information about the event is available here.

 

 

 

October 17th 2007 - Birmingham Round-Up. I've posted a round up of my experiences of the Birmingham comic convention at my blog, which you can read here. I was also a brief participant in the live Geek Syndicate podcast at the event, which you can listen to here. During the talk they talked about UK comic podcasts and Comic Book Outsiders, which I co-host. More info is available here. Later this month we will be doing an episode about our experiences at the convention.

 

October 10 2007 - Well it's been a bit busy recently, but the hard work has paid off. Issue 5 of Mythos and the 1st trade paperback "In the Shadows" collecting issues 1-5 will be available after this weekend. Saturday and Sunday is the Birmingham Comic Convention where we will be exhibiting with Mythos and debuting Issue 5 and the trade. More information about the show is available here.

7 August 2007 - Issue 4 is of Mythos now available to buy via the website shop. Issue 5 is still rolling ahead and we're going to be exhibiting at the Birmingham Comic Convention here in the UK on October 13-14th. More information about the show is available here.

 

17 July 2007-  We've had another couple of mentions recently on comics podcasts, over at Comic News Insider and also by a familiar voice on Comic Book Outsiders, a new comics podcast focusing on UK independent comics, as well as comics from smaller publishers like Dark Horse, Image, Oni, Ape, Devil's Due, Dynamite, Moonstone, Avatar, Silent Devil and so on.

27 June 2007 - Comic Geek Speak Episode 270. The guys were nice enough to mention Mythos and they also host the Mythos forum. So please check out their podcast here, and visit the Links page of this website for links to some other really great Comics Podcasts.

 

23 June 2007 - Issue 4 has gone off to the printers and it should be available to buy very soon. In the meantime we've received a new Post-Bristol review by Regie Rigby, over at Silver Bullet Comic Books in his column Fool Britannia. You can read the review in full here.

 

5 June 2007 - We're embracing the 21st century and going digital. Issue 1 of Mythos is now available to download as a PDF. So it's never been easier for you to get a hold of a copy. Just click on Buy Mythos and select your region.

 

15 May 2007 - The Bristol comic convention was a great success, it was very busy all weekend, we had a good time with Mythos and you can read my blog entry on it here for more information, or alternatively you can read Rich Johnston's  Lying In The Gutters Column about it here.

 

6 May 2007 - Next weekend is the Bristol International Comics Expo and we will be exhibiting for the first time. There are lots of great guests, including Kurt Busiek, Brian K. Vaughan and Allan Heinberg, to name but a few. For more information visit the website here.

 

4 April 2007 - I recently completed a lengthy interview with Jennifer Contino over at The Pulse, where we discuss how Mythos came about, what it's really all about and who the main characters are. The topic is called, The Mythos of Stephen Aryan. You can read it in full here.
